U.S. Medical Corps
Military and Reserve Pathways
Informed connections between civilian practice and service
Professional pathways
Emergency physicians can explore military and reserve opportunities through official recruiting and service resources. Eligibility, assignments, training commitments and benefits are determined by the relevant service and individual agreement.
Questions for official contacts
- Which medical roles and qualifications apply?
- What training and service commitments are required?
- How are assignments, mobilization and civilian work coordinated?
- Which benefits apply to the specific status and duty?
- How are privileges, supervision and liability established for each setting?
Hospital readiness partnerships
The partnership agenda includes authorized clinical training arrangements, combat casualty learning, mass casualty simulation and continuity between civilian employment and military obligations. Reserve service alone does not transfer civilian malpractice liability to the military.
