Yellow Ribbon Hospital Partnership
Certification through workforce opportunity, education and emergency readiness
The certification program
The Yellow Ribbon Hospital Partnership is the USSC certification framework for hospitals connecting professional opportunity with civilian and military readiness. Its standard centers on documented commitments, qualified assessment and measurable institutional performance.
Certification domains
- Transparent workforce agreements and professional participation
- Education, simulation and protected training arrangements
- Civilian and military cooperation where authorized agreements apply
- Emergency readiness, including fetal and maternal emergencies
- Outcome measurement, corrective action and ongoing accountability
Partnership responsibilities
Participating institutions define the employer, clinical privileges, training duties, leave arrangements, insurance and responsibilities for each activity in written agreements. Military participation requires the appropriate authorized partner.
Institutional value
- A visible commitment to workforce opportunity and preparedness
- A common structure for training, assessment and improvement
- Evidence of completed activities and institutional follow through
- A basis for evaluating retention, staffing continuity and readiness
Certification governance
The public framework establishes the program direction and assessment requirements. Certification awards follow qualified review and documented operating arrangements. This independent USSC framework does not confer VA education benefits, military status or government accreditation.
